Fabia Dance head unit MP3 problem

Featured Replies

Picked up the other halfs nearly new Fabia 1.4 Tdi on saturday which I am quite impressed with (even sounds like a V6 Granada!) but I have a bit of a niggle with the head unit. I have a few MP3 CD "homemade compilations" which play fine on the 6 year old Alpine system in my Octavia and on the cheapo JVC unit in my old P6 Rover but when I try them in the Fabia they will play but when I press the button to skip to the next track it just goes back to beggining of the first track all the time. It works fine on normal cd's. Is the head unit faulty or am I doing something wrong????

I have tried both, it just seems to go back to the beggining of the first track.

and the top right bottun of the 3 buttons in a column (just below info button) skip to next folder, try this one if you haven't already tried it.

or it may be that it don't read cd-rw's if its on a cd-rw

I need to see my dealer about my dance radio.

Every slight stractch even on a standard CD causes clicks, hiss and wobblies. A lot of my CDs sound like old neglected scratchy 45's. I think the CD pickup head is of very low quality.

Just tried the same disc in it today and its working fine now:goodvibe:

The Dance unit in my wife's Fabia 1 does that sometimes, but it does it on normal CD's (including shop bought ones).

Turning the unit off / on doesn't fix it but turning the ignition off and restarting tends to do resolve it.

Any idea to the cause and how to fix it?

Haven't had it on mine yet, but I only got it yesterday.

It seems to be behaving itself now. I think it could have had something to do with the car having done next to nothing in 2 years, maybe dust or stickiness on the lazer or something.

Hello TrickyHicky,

Suggest transfer one that wont play correctly, onto fresh CD see what gels.??

Maybe run it through iTunes or like, nothing to lose eh??
