Car dealers lying over the phone

What is with car dealers and traders lying over the phone just so you go down here?

I really wish they'd just be honest, but if I go and view a car and discover they had lied there's absolutely no way I'd deal with them anyway. :thumbdwn:

"Whats the front end like, how many stone chips?"

Phone: Oh it's nearly perfect, like three at most.

Reality: It's covered in chips and it's a candidate for a respray.

"What about the alloys"

Phone: Immaculate

Reality: They're alright, one had some bubbling caused by kerbing.

"And the interior, because I KNOW that the seats are prone to fraying".

Phone: Its all fine

Reality: Drivers seat is frayed A LOT. Others ok.

And when I question what they said on the phone..."Well remember you are buying a used car, what do you expect". I'm well aware I'm buying a used car, but I don't want a heap of sh!t.

Now anyone know of any decent Fabia vRS for sale please? :P

Or any equally "fun" car which can deliver about the same MPG.

You'd be suprise just how many private sellers do it aswell. Infact over the years the private sellers of cars I've gone to see have been far worse.

I bought myself a car last week,and 36 miles after leaving the dealer it broke down,and he didn't seem too interested about it,so a letter to trading standards is in the pipelines,he also said he has done the clutch which is more B.S.
