Checking hoses for leaks

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Im trying to sort a couple of annoying problems with my VRS so far looks like the MAF and the Front 02 sensor need replacing. No big problems there (fingers crossed)

One las thing ive got a sneaking feeling it might have a boost leak somewhere

Everyone always says check the hoses etc. Ive had a quick look through and cant see anything wrong with them but could someone show me a picture with little photoshop arrows showing which hoses to check??

This would be really helpfull

Cheers Matt

as well as those 2 there are a couple of small ones under the front of the Inlet manifold that will cause problems.

The main culprit for Boost Leaks is the Turbo to Pancake pipe. this has a habit of blowing off in the Driver side wheel arch. The other end of the pipe goes to a rubbish O-ring and clip joint, there is a revised pipe available that has stronger lugs for the clip to stop it popping out all the time.

one of the threads that has the most info on it would be http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/fault-codes-17705-17545-a/7798/ this thread also covers N75 and other issues as well

The best way to be sure about a boost/vacuum leak is to do some logs with VAGCOM.

Some of them need checking by feeling them gently all round. You can't actually see the places on the hoses where the emissions and vacumn lines crack with them still fitted.

Those are common ones to fail....does that pic help?

Has anyone actually got hold of some blue ones from Awesome???, Ive rang a couple of times to order some blue ones only to be told "we will be getting some in in 3 weeks", the 12th of this month will be the end of the second "3 weeks" excuse.

I find it off putting if something is heavily promoted as a quality item then a company cannot deliver.:thumbdwn:, or have I just been unlucky.

Peter

We have 3 black and 2 red ones in , just blue we have not got :(

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply, unfortunately it wasnt the one I was hoping for.

When I ring your company again on the 12th of this month, will there be blue hoses available for me to purchase as per your collegues comment, or would you recommend I look for another source for those 2 hoses ?.

Best Wishes

Peter

Hi

I have checked and it is going to be the latest 27th

I am at the moment , trying to get some info together so you can see , how long these take to be produced individually

Any info I will pass it on , as you guys need to know the process on these and you will be amazed at how long the process is

We have had quite a few of these in , but have sold as soon as we had them

We do have some in stock , but not the blue`s just now

Sarah

Thank you for your speedy response,

As soon as you get a pair of blue ones in could you please reserve them for me and i will provide payment details on the 27th or earlier if advised.

Many Thanks

Peter

No worries about the mini hijack guys, cheers for the answers ill get checking over next few days. I seem to be having a few problems cropping up at the minute. Quite annoying cars currently in limp mode due to a failed 02 sensor

Hi

The problem with the lambda , could be down to wrong readings from the hoses :rubchin:

May be wrong though , but if you are loosing some air , then the fuelling could be wrong
