Testing a screen inverter

Featured Replies

Anyway of doing this with a mutlimeter ?????

Got a lappy here with no screen working but it works on the D sub.

Is the inverter only for the screen, by my guesstimate it won't effect the d sub output.

The inverter is only for the screen, it regulates the voltage to the backlight.

If the inverter is faulty its not easy to test, but there is a way to see if the screen is working. Start the laptop in a very brightly lit room with the screen under the lamp. You should see a dim version of the pc starting up.

Theres a glimmer of the intel splash screen, so it looks like its a new inverter.
