octavia L&K tan leather care?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a 52 L&K octavia, the inside needs a real good clean. I've scrubbed most the front and used a leather clean and conditioner but there is still some ingrained muck and it took a ridiculous amount of scrubbing to get it to where it is now. Can you get some colour treatment for the leather that will fill in the ingrained parts and get it looking new again, any ideas what I need? where from? And what colour?

the stuff I used was only cheapo, its called wizz leather cleaner and conditioner, its what I use at home on the sofa and it works great but the sofa is dark and doesn't have 7 year old dirt on it. It does clean well, and cleaned the plastic parts better than the so called dash cleaner. I really think the best thing to finish the job would be to rub some colour back in it. I don't know if skoda sell stuff or where to go otherwise, its the strange tan colour

What products have you used already?

I use Poorboys Leather Stuff - Poorboys Car Care and Detailing Products with good results...

Try leaving it overnight on the first application.

This is good stuff, I actually use it on the leather suite at home as well which is a dark tan leather, with 7 year old muck magnet sticky twins running around it has kept it pristine and supple.

I use the Meg's Gold Class leather cleaner. I find it leaves a nice smooth finish that doesn't rub off straight away. :)

I have some autoglym cleaner and leather cream which works very well although I did one big clean up to get all the really mucky marks off using some carpet shampoo. If you do use this then test it on a hidden area first just to make sure but it took all the dirt off straight away.

It's a little trick I learned whilst valeting cars. Don't leave it on too long though as it can be pretty potent stuff and make sure you clean it off with a damp cloth thoroughly then clean with proper leather cleaner then some cream.

My leather is about 13 years old and still looks pretty bloody good but with some of the grey colour rubbing off and the carpet shampoo brought it up very clean so it should do wonders with your meer 7 year old leather.
