Morning all!!

Thought i'd join up as have had my eye on this site for long time for gathering info, never joined until now. Why? Cos I got plans for the Octy!!

So, background. I'm a bit bonkers, I live in Northamptonshire and work in Sheffield, so I have a daily commute of 202 miles. 1000 miles a week. Easy.

I run one of the last Mk1 Octy vRS (54 plate), bought with 30,000 on the clock last July. Shes now showing 83,000. Now this mileage piling on WAS scaring the hell outa me. But, I've decided to take a different stance on things. Instead of worrying about when things'll start to give me problems, I've decided to look on the mileage as a good thing, as a countdown to..... A rebuild.

Now, if you're having work like that done, it'd be rude to stay standard, wouldn't it?!

I have already been in contact with JabbaSport a few times, and pending going to see them for my first bach of work and sitting down for a proper chat with them, have been building up a list of possibilities.....

I thought that some people on here may be interested in my cars progress?

Anyway. Will keep ya all informed. Peterborough, see ya soon!

Welcome! Always interested in modding updates :D

With that sort of mileage, have you considered an LPG conversion? It should pay for itself in no time, and would give you diesel running costs, on a performance car.

Im still gutted i missed a Red LPG vRS Estate that was on autotrader about 6 weeks ago :(

I do run LPG. Thats one of the reasons I got the Octy vRS as its a good engine for LPG to run on. I'd highly advise anyone doing over 12,000 a year gets it done, as even at that mileage it'd pay for itself in 18 months. And as far as running on gas goes, the only noticable difference from the driving seat is a little light that goes from red (petrol) to green (gas). Yes, scientifically there is less power being produced, but we're talking such a minute deference, you can't tell at all. And had zero issues reliabilty wise, although I didn't go for the 'cheapest' conversion place, I coulda saved £500 going to somewhere else, but not worth the risk in my opinion.

As a basic comparison to petrol. I used to pay £52 to fill the tank and get 300 miles from that. I now pay £23 to fill the tank to go 250 miles..... So 50 miles less per tank, but a tank of fuel now being less than half price.

My conversion payed for itself within 6 months and I've been laughing at the pumps ever since. :D

Hello and welcome

Lets see the photo's then :D
