foggin up all the time

Featured Replies

Dear all, I think i might have a radiator or aircon fault. My windscreen fogs up all the time, even though its not humid. If i put the aircon on it clears up. I had a similar thing in a previous Peugot 306. Is there any thing I can check before asking a garage to take a look. My warranty runs out ina few weeks, so am thinking of taking out an extended warrnty. Many thanks. Tim.

Sounds like you have a water leak, check all the carpets for dampness including the hatch area. The door seals have been known to cause issues on the octy2.

If the aircon clears the fogging then it's probably not the cause of the fault (Though windows fog up without anything being wrong anyway). I did get fogging on the outside of my windscreen one very humid day this summer when I had the aircon on full cold.

If the extended warranty is reasonable money then I'd go for that - If you're happy with the dealer...

Thanks, its not from the dealer, I got a quote from warranty direct for £316 which is the more comprehensive cover. - Tim.

Tesco Finest warranties are supposed to be pretty good :)

Check the air con/climate unit isn't set on 'recirculate'. That would cause misting up inside..

Pollen Filter! Search the forum and find out lots.

Have a forage above the passenger footwell and you'll find a couple of thumbscrews (NO!!!! NOT the torture variety!) undo and pull out the filter, replace with a new one and Robert is your father's brother.

Extended warranty is a bit extreme .... easy diy fix for less than a tenner.

Hope that helps,

Dave

If you are serious about an extended warranty then I suggest you contact Allams Skoda - listed under Briskoda Partners - I dealt with James and he gave me a good deal, email

[email protected]

He beat the cheapest quote I got after ringing arround several Skoda dealers - you can buy the same warranty from any Skoda dealer. Suggest you get a quote or two for the warranty you want and drop James an Email.

Worth putting a new pollen filter in as if they are old and starting to block up the air flow can be very much reduced.

It's worth checking that your not losing coolant. If you are, it could be a leaking heater matrix.

Apologies, original reply was gibberish.
