Surround sound problems

Featured Replies

Right i dont know if anyone will be able to help, but ive run out of ideas and im getting rather frustrated.

basically....

i own a 37inch LG tv (37lg5010), and a sony surround sound system (davd 260).

they are connected up with an xbox 360 as well, and all used to be fine,

i had an HDMI running from the TV to the DVD and an optical lead between them, then the xbox connected via the component lead.

It all used to work fine and i could use surround sound when watching freeview/dvds,or playing the xbox.

ive had a bit of a move around and since i can only listen to surround when watching dvds.

right, now ive checked the optical lead with a new one, and that hasnt soted it, and the is still a little red light coming from the optical port.

ive also performed system re-sets on both items.

anyone shed any light on this? TV's etc isnt my forte.

im wondering which item i will have to get fixed, the tv or dvd player?

many many many thanks in advance

cheers for reading:thumbup:

would it be possible to run them all through HDMI and have surround sound? or is it optical only?

Havent knocked something on your remote have you?

nope, checked the remote, still no joy.

its really starting to get on my nerves

It's not on line-in co-axial instead of line-in optical is it?

oh, it's auto switching, with co-ax taking priority over optical
