Tank Fills

Featured Replies

You havent been reading Mr Clarksons little booklet that accompanied this months issue of Top Gear magazine, have you?

He describes how he plays it in every car and that the Jaguar is the worst car (iirc) to play it in... if it says its empty, it is empty :D

Must admit the beep scared the hell mout of me at the Ring, came over a crest, hit the brakes hard for a 90 right only for the beep to go off - I thought my brakes had failed.

As a general rule, I stay in the top half of the tank. Force of habit. Just like I try to park so that I can just drive out of a parking spot rather than having to reverse out.

Glad it's not just me who always tries to park so I can just drive out. I figure it's easier to

back into a space I can't see than to reverse into a stream of traffic I can't see.

Or failing that, I just aim at a bunch of spaces miles away from anyone else... :D

Rob.

They teach you on advanced and police driving courses to reverse into parking spaces. The only time it doesn't make sense is when you go shopping - you want easy access to the boot.

I'm a bit of a lazy sod when it comes to parking. I like to get as close to the store as possible. I suppose not for the walk to the store, but the walk back fully laden with bags. I refuse to park in disabled spots though - i hate people that do that without disabled badges - I feel like letting their tyres down!

I have no probs with reversing out of spaces, but I'm sure you octy owners will admit that all round visibility is not as good as the Fabia (maybe a tighter turning circle too???) I think I'd like the benefit of your engines in the benefit my car's towny driving properties. What would the 0-60 be of a 210HP vRS in a Fabia? :D
