Possibly buying a new VRS

I have it on mine!

Must be in the Irish spec then and not the UK one

I've just checked the July '09 brochure & hill hold is not an option for any car, it is however standard equipment for Laurin & Klement and Scout.

You can get a completely different set of options on a Octavia if you buy in the Irish Republic.

Nice one Stuart welcome back to the world of Skoda!

Hill hold & ESP are also standard features on any 1.4TSI or 1.8TSI DSG-equipped Octy (from the "S" variant on up)

Is that on IE spec cars or UK spec or both?

Because if you look at the UK Octavia brochure then as I stated previously only the Laurin & Klement and Scout have it listed as part of their standard specification, it's not mentioned at all on any of the others.

If it is standard on UK DSG models, why isn't it mentioned in the specifications list?

It's listed on the Skoda UK brochure I downloaded. Just look at the verbiage for standard equipment on the "S" and it lists Hill Hold and ESP as standard equipment with "1.4TSI DSG only" in parenthesis.

It has been also confirmed by several members here that the 1.8TSI with DSG gearbox also has these features as standard in the UK (again, only with the DSG box). The SE and Elegance models are also similarly equipped; L&K has ESP and Hill hold as standard for both petrol/diesel and manual/DSG cars.

Good to hear Stuart !

At least you can get an exhaust for this one ;)

You throwing the CH's onto it ?

Thats true, undecided on the wheels, dealer offered me a very good trade in I think and they seem to want to sell it themselves rather than pass it to a VW dealer, I'll have to check whether my trade in includes the wheels or just based on a standard car. If valued with these wheels then nothing I can do.

If I can take them off then unfortunately I don't have the originals anymore, would have to see if someone on a Golf forum would do a swap plus cash for their VW ones.

I actually quite like the standard 18's on the new VRS so not that bothered really.

Well dealer contact me today to advise build week is currently 44, though it is possible this may be brought forward.

Week 44 is 26 October to 1 November so currently anticipating delivery by mid-November.

Well as of this morning the new VRS is ordered

FL Octavia VRS 2.0 Manual

Race Blue Metallic

Maxidot

MDI

Spare Wheel

Heated Seats

Parking Sensors F&R

Light Assist/Rain Sensor/Auto Dimming Mirror

Xenon Headlights

Would have added leather but leather and headed seats can't be ordered together :thumbdwn:

Just got to wait for a build date now

Hi Mate are you sure about the leather and heated seats as I have just ordered one with leather and heated seats. Nice spec you have ordered mate:thumbup:

I've just posted in your thread, what a coincidence. When I ordered my car I mentioned to the dealer that I had conflicting stories from on here regarding the heated leather seats.

Discussion took place with the dealer phoning Skoda UK and saying the leather seat option in the brochure didn't mention heated as it did for the Elegance, they said that was because they were not an option on the VRS and that even if the heated seat option was ticked they wouldn't be included.

Guess I can only go by what I was told on the day, not that bothered anyway really.

I like the look of leather seats, however I don't like them in the summer, especially if you're wearing shorts.

I found that out some years ago when I jumped into my old mans car which had leather seats & had been sitting in direct sun for a while & I got the back of my legs burnt.

:iagree:

The standard ones are part leather anyway so that\ll do me and save £800

Here's another question perhaps someone can answer...

Do the wing mirrors fold back electrically on a FL vRS or are they just the manual foldback type?

It's just a convenience thing, as where I live we have a bunch of morons who like whacking wing mirrors! :orb_mad:

For the UK, seems to be manual folding :(

It's possible that the mirrors do have the motors and they are not saying and maybe they can be enabled via VCDS but I doubt it.

The vRS cataloge that you get on the main Skoda website shows them or is possible (option maybe in other countries), it would be a nice surprise if they were and SUK had got the brochure wrong:rofl:

Knowing Skoda UK it's a possibility, whens your delivery date, if it's before mine you can let us know :D

Enjoy your car. Mine's race blue and it always looks good even a few days after it's been washed. Was hankering after a yellow one when we were looking but SWMBO wouldn't have it.

I'll check for you when mine arrives. Dealer called me 4 days ago to let me know my new car is waiting at the port for the boat :D

its week 36 build so I think that should hopefully mean I get it last week of Sept??

Just had another look at the europe brochure and it seems to imply that the VRS is different to the Elegance in that on the Elegance you can fold them in from inside the car by moving the mirror adjustment lever but on the VRS they only fold by holding down lock on the remote.

I have seen in another thread, someone has been told the vrs has different wiring compared to other models so can not be retro'd, maybe your findings explains that theory?
