FL Bluetooth Option

Featured Replies

I'm just about to order a new Octy and don't know whether or not to order Bluetooth. The brochure only list a few compatible phones, mainly Nokias. I have a company Blackberry that I have no choice over.

The question is, will the Octy bluetooth work with the Blackberry. Will it give just limited functionality or will it simply not work at all?

I'd be happy if it just worked as a hands free kit. I'm going to be signing the order on Thursday, so it would help if someonw knows the answer. The dealer didn't have a clue.

It's not an expensive option, so I may just order it anyway and hope it works,

TIA

Steve.

Think it depends which Blackberry it is. Do you know if your phone supports rSAP (remote SIM access profile)? That is required for full functionality with the Skoda kit. It's a major annoyance for me, as I really want to stick with Nokia phones, but very few of them work fully with my OEM bluetooth kit.

Here's the "official" compatibility thread: http://briskoda.net/ice-security-insurance/skoda-bluetooth-phone-compatibility/88038/

If you want bluetooth from the factory you need to order a DSG car.

my wife has got a blakbery VM-605 this brings up caller id on radio it fantastic !

It's a Blackberry 8900, which is one of the latest ones. I'd be happy with partial functionality to be honest. Does anyone know if you get anything at all if you use a phone that's not on the list?

I believe the 8900 does support Rsap

It's to do with the multifunction wheel, the 3 spoke multifunction wheel with paddles which includes the bluetooth kit is only for the DSG cars.

I agree it's silly as you can either get the BT kit to work from the wiper stalk or it's possible to get 3 spoke multifunction wheels without the paddles for DSG.

You can still have bluetooth without MFSW. Control, on FL cars, is via the stereo and the phone button.

It's true you can have it but you can't get it installed through the factory, would have to buy the kit and fit later.

Is there any way of using the voice commands without a MFSW?

Not that I'm aware off unless the stereo options alloy, I've got voice control on my golf at the moment and 1. It's crap and 2. never use it cause it's easier to use the menus on the display.

Ive got a pre-facelift (2007) vRS with the OEM bluetooth and my Blackberry storm works fine with it. As my car hasnt got a multi function wheel I control the phone (and other Maxi-dot functions) via the right hand stalk.

Maybe I'm missing something - but I've got a 4-spoke MFSW, factory BT and what looks suspiciously like a clutch pedal and a 6-speed manual gearstick. In other words, no DSG required for factory BT, sorry to disagree.

The MFSW & BT is not an option available on a manual vRS FL. As you say it is available on other models.

I find it difficult to justify £480 for the same kit I have in my current Leon which cost £210, the dealer even did me the iPod connection for free! Which brings me onto me next point, am I just better off getting a Parrot kit or similar if I want bluetooth AND iPod connection rather than paying £600 for Bluetooth Kit & MDI through Skoda?

Yes but yours is an ELEGANCE not a VRS ;)
