Tuning a Mk2 Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Afternoon

I'm about to buy a '06 Octavia VRS Estate and I'm wondering how best to give it a little extra 'go'. My thoughts are:

ECU Reprogramme & a Forge Twintercooler

or

ECU Reprogramme & an Milltek Exhaust system, probably just Cat back

Which should I go for (I can't stretch to all three, sadly)? Does anyone have experience of these mods and who's the best for the ECU reprogramme now?

Many thanks

Nik

Welcome :)

A search will give you a bettter understanding :)

This subject has been flogged to death recently, try a search and all will be revealed.

.................. welcome btw ;)

I no expert, and bit old school, so i'd always suggest making sure that your car can handle and stop properly before you increase the power. As this car could be upto 3 years old, make sure the brakes & suspension are all in perfect order and up to the job & invest in a proper all wheel alignment if there is any sign of uneven tyre wear. And while you're at it make sure the tyres are in good nick :D

After that i'd suggest getting the basics right first, ie the induction & exhaust then go for the remap. I'd also suggest getting the latest version of the diverter valve fitted as your 06 may still be running the rubber diphragm version (assuming it's still on the original)

Intercoolers help, but IMHO seem more "productive" if you are going beyond stage 1.

As vRSLen says, a search on here should give you all you need and more

i wouldnt waste your money on an intercooler till your at stage 2 or more.

remap, exhaust, Arbs, whiteline anti lift kit would be a huge improvement on your car
