hi again all

bit of a problem with my daughters car again. (Felicia 2000)

last week she said when she turned the ignition she felt the key ''go funny'' it has now stopped working alltogether. At first i thought battery or starter but having read the forum and also having tried turning the key (which turns freely) but there seems to be no springback on the barrel

would i be right in assuming the barrel is u/s ?? and secondly is it easy to change ??

cheers i have changed the barrel but still no luck (it needed changing anyway) as the key was always a bit dodgey in it.

looks like it could be the starter ???

Immobiliser?

It could be the switch, try connecting a light bulb across the starter solenoid connection, if it lights up every time and the starter doesn't work, it'll point to a fault with the starter, if it doesn't light up it could be the ignition switch/wiring.

starter u/s what a nightmare to get another one. tried 2 auto places and neither could repair it.

Finally tracked down a replacement (somewhere near derby) hopefully it will arrive in sunderland today
