Help - Warning Light

Featured Replies

Hi,

The yellow "Control system for exhaust gases" light didn't go out today on starting the car.

No warning beep as you would normally get when a bulb goes, or the screen wash runs low. No discernible restriction in performance or "limp home" mode either.

Done a little search on here and ERG valves are mentioned - means nothing to me though I'm afraid.

Any suggestions? Anybody around Cardiff with a VAG Com that would be willing to shed some light on it for me before take it to the stealers? Pretty Please.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for reading. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Edit: I should add that the car was serviced 2 weeks/500 miles ago inc a cam belt change if that makes a difference.

Extra Info

Had the same problem on my Polo PD130. One of the glow plugs had failed, the part was only c.£12.00. But the possibilities are infinite, hope its the same thing and nothing major.

Cheers for the comments.

I'm gonna take it in tomorrow morning as I've read that this could be one of 100 different things and should really have proper diagnostic.

My bet is they'll switch the light off and change me £40 for the privalage..........
