Reccomended Air Filters

Featured Replies

Looking for a new air filter

Gonna stick with just a panel filter as will be fitting the PD160 intake also

Was considering a Jetex panel? What would everyone else reccomend?

Also wheres the cheapest and best place to buy a Jetex?

Considering the Jetex as my mate Taylor has one and hasn't said anything bad about it. Still new to the whole diesel tuning scene lol

As I posted in another thread. OEM paper filters often come out best in comparison to so called "performance" filters. So..............your choice. I've used K&N filters before and I couldn't tell any difference.

I think most people on here use K&N or a Green Cotton ones. Aftermarket ones are about £30-45, Standard OEM ones are only £10.

I have a K&N panel one in my car. When I put it on a Rolling Road, I initially got 1.2 BHP more than standard, although I can't tell any difference when driving.

Not really looking for a difference tbh, looking more for longevity and cheapness. £10 a time as opposed to one off £40 and cleaning every few thousand i'd rather have that

Yeah this is why i'm thinking of getting one after the warrenty is up. Cleaning kits are about £10 and if your planning on keeping the car for a while you might as well invest in it :)

Depends how long you're keeping the car and the number of miles you do. I average about 10k a year and replace the filter every year with a standard paper one from GSF, costs about £9.

So, considering costs of a performance filter plus filter cleaner, you're not going to be breaking even until 50k or 5 years in my case, but which time the cotton filter will probably need replacing anyway.

I'd prefer to chuck the filter away each year, that pee about cleaning something every 6 months. But to each his own :)

Where is/what is GSF? I could do with a new one

I have Pipercross

I've been running a green cotton filter and no complaints

I average 28k a year so a foam filter is more appropriate for me i think. Plan on keeping the car for 2.5 years so will be spending a bit of money on it

Sorry. German Swedish and French car parts. Believe the filters are made by Mann

Tim, this????

Tim, this????

Thats the chappy. Cheaper than GSF too

hmmm, how easy is it to get to look at the filter. Could I do it at lunch with limited tools from work? I am interested to see the state of mine as I am sure the prevous owner wasn't so good at maintaining the car :thumbdwn:

You need a philips screwdriver and thats it. Unscrew the two screws and slide the top of the box away from clips and there you go. Just slide the filter out and see how dirty it is! Shouldnt take more than 5 mins :)
