I was driving back from Yorkshire to Portsmouth yesterday in the vRS when the traffic all stopped on the M1 (after about 4 hours driving) at Luton - big multi vehicle accident. The outside temp said it was about 26 degrees. I saw the air ambulance hovering and then it landed so I switched off (only for about 5 minutes) but when we started moving again the climate switched itself off and it started pumping out hot air even thought the cabin temp was set at 19. I never had this before in my mk4 Golf in hot weather or in the Passat. Was it just getting hot? Once the traffic started moving again it pumped out cold air again.

Never had this happen with my Climate Control but my 105bhp 1.9TDI motor won't throw-out as much heat as a VRS. My guess is that the heat-soak from the engine caused the air in the inlet to the A/C unit to be above its maximum allowed value. The A/C unit then closed itself down until you got moving and the air- temperture rapidly fell to an acceptable value. Could be something wrong if other VRS owners haven't experienced this before.

I used to have a Pug 306 which gave you a blast of hot air through the vents even with temperature knob set to minimum, after it had been driven and then restarted up to an hour later.

I've never noticed that but I don't have climate, I have the climatic.
