Drive-by-wire

Featured Replies

just been looking on jabba's site and they're example, " 4x4 1.8t drive-by-wire vvt , 2000 to present, 216-230 bhp." My 4x4 1.8t ARX engine, is on an 02 plate, can anybody confirm if this is DBW and excuse my ignorance but what is VVT.

VVT = variable valve timing nothing like Honda's VTEC though.

the VVT on the skud is for better fuel economy/emisions at lower revs

when does the VVT come in? and can you feel it ?

Yes - the ARX is DBW and has VVT. There is mention in the Article below of how to physically check if VVT is fitted.

It only operates at low revs when the engine is cold. It's not a performance thing, just helps emission control.
