As the title says , drive a 1.9 tdi 130 bhp ,Variable service , last serviced in Feb 2009 with 92k miles , now on 110k thats 18 k , but the service indicator is not showing yet , if at the last service they made error and set it on 12 months would the variable still kick in and advise me . Most previous services have always come up at around 17.5 k . What do you think .

If they had set it to fixed interval, I think that the service indicator would have come up after 10k miles. I'm pretty sure that on fixed it is 10k miles or 12 months whichever is sooner.

I know i've a Mk2 Octavia, which is now on fixed servicing.

I passed 10k yesterday, whilst out the service indicator come on and its indicating close to 11k before it says its ready for a service.

Im not experienced with the variable service, but i would expect it to come on some time in the next 2 to 3000 thousand miles.

My Mk1 Octy 1.9 tdi went up to 30k on variable servicing. The MK2 1.9 tdi goes to 18k on variable.
