VRS II - Sounds Good to Me!

Featured Replies

The Bolero & speaker combination in my LE sounds awful in the midtones at mid-high volume. As soon as something with lots of vocals comes on, it's unbearable when the volume is up. Haven't noticed any difference between media/radio.

Oh and that's with the mid tone on it's lowest setting!

This seems to agree with the posts I have read about the speaker/capacitor set-up needing some tweaking.

One of the litte scroats at work who drives an ST sat in the VRS this morning and was astonished at the quality of the stereo! His exact words were: "f**k me that sounds miles better than mine"!!!

As a 22yr old who's high frequency hearing is probably a bit more acute than my 43yr old ears, thats not bad in my book!

I went further and asked him if he thought it was too harsh and he replied "nah, come and listen to mine - it'll take your f******g head off if I stick on The Prodigy"!!

ROTFL!!!!

I'm surprised you let him sit in - did you put down a seat cover first? :D

Oh, and it's ROFL  - HTH :P

You haven't got a tweater going like mine was have you? It manifested itself in horrible harshness in the upper mid, which got worse. A good way to tell is crank the volume and make the unit beep (seems to be just the right frequency), like when you're scrolling through a list of mp3s with acoustic feedback turned on in the options. Listen close up to the tweeters as it beeps for distortion.

I got mine from link below..maybe a bit expensive, but it was fully fitted, vag com, and 12 months warranty..they don't show the skoda ones, but will source one for the same price..give them a ring..i originally had a kenwood 7220, but this wipes the floor with it..go on, you know you want one ..i live in northumberland, arranged a day and time, and it was whoopee fun driving back home

New VW Golf / Passat / Eos / Tiguan / Scirocco MFD3 RNS 510 Navi

Took me bloody ages to get the stains out!!

Columbus update: finally got BMW man to agree to selling at the auction starting price so it cost me £599 with a genuine code card. Stu recommended this trader and if anybody will know he will. As for spending almost £1000 fitted - thats way too rich for me and unnecessary IMHO. The fascia has cost me £25 and even if I buy Stu a very big case of beer, it will still work out a lot cheaper!

Looking forward to getting it but not to dismantling the dashboard of a car with less than 300 miles on it.......;)
