May be about to order a new L&K

Featured Replies

Ok, someone please try and talk me out of ordering a new L&K 1.8TSi Estate in black with bluetooth phone prep.

I'm going over to a Harrogate on Sunday to test drive one and I'm very close to putting pen to paper ! :o

If you haven't got the will power, mate, why should we intervene ? :)

You know you want it - just make sure they give you free pipe and slippers, as well as mats and flaps

I was going to go for a vRS but there just wasn't enought toys for the money, plus I'm not sure Charlie would appreciate being thrown about the boot if I drive one like it should be driven.

I'm affraid to say I'm a gadget fanatic and the L&K just has everything !!

What I need to know I suspose is what are the bad points of the MkII and should I stick with Audi.

Sure you want burnt legs in the summer when you get in wearing your shorts?

Then there's all that white & cream leather to keep clean, it shows the dirt so easily!

Mine's a vRS, but I'm struggling to find any bad points.

What price an Audi with the same number of toys as the L & K

Erm yeah, a lot lot lot more for the same engine etc which would be the SE with options at £29K RRP, I've got the L&K down to £17.6k over the phone so far from 20K RRP.

If you're into gadgets & creature comforts then the L&K is a great choice.

It probably depreciates more rapidly than other Octy trim levels (not sure how it compares to Audis), which isn't a concern if it's a company car or you plan to keep it for a long time.

I always seem to be drawn to toy laden cars rather than the sports ones. I loved my Mk1 vRS Combi, but ended up retro fitting a load of stuff which cost me a bomb.

Do it :)

I'm test driving a 1.8TSI tomorrow, will let you know how I get on! :)

Think you've answered your own question then ! L & K every time, unless you've got money to burn

Yeah thats why I'm so drawn to it. Sat Nav i'll retro fit when/if I want it, sunset glass.... not on a black car, heated rears ... don't have passengers to warrent it, mdi... don't need it as the bolero has an sd slot, front parking sensors.... I can see the nose of the car, so the only option I need is bluetooth phone.

I keep having to go back to the spec sheet to double check that it actually comes with everything it mentions.

It's a dream car!!!

I take it you don't drive it in the wet then Sim ? ;)

Watch this space. The crunch day is sunday when I have the test drive and a face to face "negotiation"

Check the price and spec on a Superb Elegance . .. Now there is a lot of toys for your money!!

I know,, I have ordered one cause I was so impressed.

Well, went for the test drive today and ended up ordering the following;

1.8TFSI L&K estate in Black magic, with Onxy interior

+ spare wheel, bluetooth and dog guard all for £17.6K

All I've got to do now is wait until december......

Yay!! Good for you!

It'll soon pass... it's only 2191.45319 hours! :D

Don't say that, it's bad enough as it is. I want the car now !!!

Was just about to say "Get on with it", when I read your last post and saw you had! Well done! Hope you won't regret it - I've ordered a Diesel L&K hatch, which should be delivered around early November, so I'm in the same boat as you. With the deals they're doing at the moment, you'd be mad not to (that's what I'm telling myself, anyway!!).

Kept looking at Elegances and working my way through the options list until I had a very high-spec car indeed, not far short of an L&K in price. So I'd give myself a good slap, tell myself to be sensible and start all over again. Finally had a couple of pints and thought "Oh sod it - L&Ks are cheaper (for a while) than Elegances, so make the most of it . . ." So I did.

Not a good idea, buying a car after a couple of pints . . . :D

Yeah bet the test drive was interesting.... lol.

I was going to wait and have a few months with no debt, but then like you say; With the no VAT deals it would be silly not to get one now.

Hopefully I can arrange to pick it up on my birthday in december. Although I'm sure there is something wrong with my myself a birthday present.

hmmmmm wonder is SWMBO will buy it for me.... er maybe not.

I never have to worry about what SWMBO says....

Sounds very nice

Good choice :D

Steve
