Radio Code

Featured Replies

I know its not really an Octavia specific thing, but I don't have a record of the radio code for my car, and I'll be needing it if I decide to go for the Dension ipod kit.

Phoned the dealer, but they can't give me the code until I remove the head unit from the car and get the serial number and will likely charge me I've been told.. Is there anyway to obtain this through Vag Com ?

I think the code is stored in the ECU so you don't get the code in the handbook.I have removed my radio to fit a hands free kit and the radio didn't need the code when I switched it back on.

There was another thread regarding radio codes on here the other day which had some more info.

VCDS (VAG-COM) cannot provide radio codes.

You shouldn't need it for removing and re-installing the same radio.

Cheers guys, thanks for the replies.

Good to know that I can remove and reinstall without messing about with codes that I don't have !

No Simeon, the ECU will only store one code.

Yup
