Looks a bit like the bastard child of a Porsche Boxster and an Audi TT, along with the Peugeot group front - it'll have to perform to make any impression on the market, as it certainly doesn't have the badge kudos, and, in the words of Dragon's Den, for that reason, I won't be investing

Pug always seem to overprice their flagship models, and then they lose value like nothing else and become worthless the day the warranty has run out.

This will have to be a cheap-ish car in order to get plenty of buyers, but i think the whole 'french' stigma will hinder it.

I wouldn't own one (having had a bad experience with both the cars and the dealerships) but i can see it being popular with those 'more money than sense' types.

looks a nice car but you have to remember its a pug. not for me

I agree with the Boxster / TT comment, it looks ok from the side / rear but the front is, well ... pug ugly. But I can see it being a popular car.

I think it looks interesting for a Puegeot. Any idea on what engines will be going in?

1.6T (200bhp and 203lb/ft), 1.6T (156bhp and 177lb/ft), 2.0HDi (163 and 251lb/ft)

Not for me. :thumbdwn:

An additional choice for hairdresser types;)

looks fantastic, but it will drive like a peugeot so its a miss from me :)

What? The drive of the 205 GTi / 306 GTi-6 was amazing....

But its still a miss because its french.

Your talking about two quiet old cars....

like going on about a mk1 golf gti or the fantastic amout of driving involment in old fords compared to new fords.

Still my point is, i belive it will look better than it drives. And due to the competion on the market. I very much doubt it will have the grip, gearbox and power of the TT as well as the image and build quailty. Nor will it have the side ways youthful nature of the 350z. As well as the rx7, boxster just to name a few i would rather own than this peugeot. I would even consider the hyundai coupe for its price and arnsty. Think the coupe is alittle weak? How about the new gensis which is a truly wonderful car to drive as well as its unique style and approach to a euro option.

Or if your sure you want a RCZ whats wrong with a 307 GTi

MY 2p

Looks nice as many pugs do.

But it'll be overpriced made of recycled plastic coffee cups and bog roll inners cost a fortune to repair and have a gearbox like a spoon in a bucket of bolts.

Wow, someone can copy a TT

How much is it going to cost? Are they aiming for TT/Rocco territory?

I've voted miss, overall - although I think it looks quite pretty.

As for the engines that Rob listed, the 200bhp 1.6T variant will be the same one used in the current Cooper-S, and it's a cracker by all accounts, and frugal too. It was a joint-Pug venture and currently used in the 207GTi, although not quite at that level of tune (175bhp).

Steve

Guaranteed hit!

Looks nice, but I still would buy an Audi TT (new version if I had the cash and a garage to put it in)
