Fusebox repair wires, any info?

Featured Replies

I need to power a couple of devices and instead of hacking into existing wiring with scotchlocks I would like to add a couple of wires to the fusebox.

Anyone have an idea of the part number for the repair wire I need?

I found 000-979-021 which suits the smaller "mini" type fuses at the top of the fusebox but I'd like to use the "normal" full size fuses at bottom of the fusebox, so a larger connector is needed.

Does anyone know the number? I did try my dealer but as usual they havent a clue what I am talking about!

Well, I guess I will use the smaller fuses, Only needs a 5/10amp rating so it should be ok.

It looks as though the fusebox is made by TYCO, as I need to power up the fridge/batt charge when towing my caravan I also need to obtain a large wire/fuse connection to be able to make a neat job, do any techies have any details ? cheers - Stuart.

I bought some 000-979-021 wires this morning from my local VW dealer and they seemed to understand what I was talking about a little more than my Skoda dealer! Could be worth a try.....

Will they fit the larger fuseholder ? and how much were they ? cheers - Stuart.

£3 for two wires (therefore 4 connectors) They only fit the smaller mini-fuses at the top though, but my devices only need 10A fuses so its ok for my needs.

I did it like that:

But then you need another fuse holder surely? As that feed from the fusebox isnt fused. I wanted to do away with the need for extra inline fuse holders so I fitted the correct cable into the back of the fusebox and put an extra fuse into the slot in the fusebox.
