Glow plug warning light flashing?

Featured Replies

Hi Chaps,

My glow plug light is flashing on and off, but I can't find an explination in the handbook any ideas? Car starts and drives as normal.

Cheers

JON

Had something similar on my old Merc Traveliner it was an indicator that one of the glow plugs had given up the ghost.

Maybe its that????????

check your brake lights are all ok

How do you mean "glow plug light"? I had a glow plug fail a few weeks back but got the exhaust emission light on. It covers 1001 ailments and had to be diagnosed.

Do you mean the coils..........?

check your brake lights are all ok

If not then its your break light switch easy and cheap to fix

Had the glow plug light flashig yesterday while going home. Straight on to Briskoda forum to find this very post.

Checked my break lights: all out.

Checked the fuse: normal.

Checked the break light switch: dead.

Bought a new one from eurocarparts for £7.50 fitted in about 5 min incluling re fitting the trim under the steering wheel.

Break light working, glow plug light stopped flashing.

Thanks Briskoda!

i have got this problem i have just picked up a new switch for my clutch and brake BUT i have led rear brake lights now these put the bulb warning light on could these make this glow plug light flash or is it to do with the switch

cheers dave

if it's easy to put normal bulbs back in the break lights then try that 1st as it is easiest, if that doesn't cure problem then it is most likely down to switch as this needs to work and pass voltage through for the engine management to work properly.
