Has Your Stream Done This?

Featured Replies

Just finding out if anyone else has had this happen to their radio. I was driving home with the radio on. Heard a load bang, (thought something had it me) looked at my radio display to see it was blank, after a second, it popped back into life. I think the noise was the bass on the speakers.

Would welcom your input.

Cheers

Quite common - do a quick search and you'll find loads of threads along with some possible solutions :)

Never had that problem but a couple of times i have started the car quickly and found i had no sound. A restart of the car cured it.

Yeap, had that. search for a thread on the OctyII forum "thought iI'd been shot...."

yeah exaectly the same happened to me been into the stealers and a replacement headunit is required:thumbdwn:

Hi All,

I've experienced the same problem back in 2006, when I bought my car. Reported it to the service guys and they said there was a firmware update, which they applied succesfully. Ever since it was never again happenned.

Welcome :)

I have had various problems, but none of late :)

This happened to me for the first time today, sounded like someone had chucked a brick at the car from a great height!

Even though I knew what it was from reading the threads on here I still had to have a quick look round the car when I got out just to be sure ;)

With my Stream I had the no sound problem. With the Steam MP3 I have had the WTF is going on effect,

but not after my last service :)

Goddammit . Driving home from work today on the highway doing app. 75 mph with SWMBO in the passenger seat and my Stream MP3 on radio low level, we heard a loud bang. Radio went silence, but still RDS station name was visible. A couple of seconds later, the radio kicked in on same low sound level. If I hadn´t read this thread before and remembered it at that time, I would now be looking all over my beloved Octy II for a bullet hole, dead seagul, big dent from rock throwing kids or expensive mechanical failure. When I ordered the car almost 2 years ago I insisted on an radio update due to known bad reception capabilities, which the dealer promised to do. 2 weeks ago the car went for 60.000 km service incl. engine update. Guess I have to get back to the dealer to have a radio update.

Is there any way to see current radio fw version without VCDS/Vag-com and is there possibly any Stream MP3 fw version later than november 2007?

I´ve scanned the relevant threads mention this problem and sending big thanks to the posters while entertaining the idea of buying a Columbus.

Happened me too last week. I sh4t a brick there and then.

Glad it wasn't just me that it's happened to.

Firmware upgrade ASAP, new baby due and I'm sure it'll hardly like that sort of a bang!!!

had it before my first service, not had it since.

Sometimes, first thing in the morning, mine forks in two and gets everywhere.
