VRS Mudflaps anyone?

Featured Replies

I am looking to fit mudflaps to my Mk 2 VRS (for stone chip prevention) I rang Skoda today and they state there is no specific MF for the VRS however the standard MF for the MK 2 Octavia can be modified to fit. they are £20 per set.

Has anyone got any pics of them fitted? if so please post and let me know how you went about the mod and the fitting.

Thanks

There's a few peeps on here who have heated and shaped them to fit.

You'd have thought that with the FL Octy out now with vRS rear bumpers across the range, that they would have updated their accessories brochure with rear mudflaps that would fit.

Cheers, I dont want to spend £40 and they look a poor fit though.

Well no. However, I was hoping Skoda would release some new ones sometime soon for the facelift, so they'd fit our vRS's. :)

Mmmmmmmmm we have waited 3 years and they have not bothered yet for the VRS mk 2

There are posts on here on how to do it - do a search.

Hello Masonic, i've just fitted a full set of o.e. mudflaps onto my octy vrs (57-plate).

My local dealer said that they wouldn't fit. I gave it a damn good go and i've managed to get all four on.

The front ones are fine - they go on no probs - no cutting or heating.

The rear ones were a 'challenge' but i conquered it. Had to use my trusty stanley knife, my missus hairdryer and plenty of patience!!

They've gone on and they look good. They definitely reduce stones hitting your car.

Worth putting on. My full set cost me around £30 to buy.

Good luck

As vRSuper1 said , £30 for all 4 flaps from the dealer , when u fit the rear just heat them up with a hair dryer so they are nice and warm then just remove a couple of the wheel arch screws to fit them .No cutting needed at all .

Scotpcs has a mkII with rear flaps , couple of pictures here http://briskoda.net/octavia-ii/should-i/91142/ (scroll to the bottom of the page)

thanks

I think Karlos69's point is that the facelift cars (except Scout) all have the same rear bumper, which is the same as the pre-facelift VRs (?). So, the part does exist, as it's fitted as standard to facelift Octavia IIs.

Part code: KEA 600 001A I think that's what you want. (from [/url]Skoda Auto accessories brochure)

The brochure says: "Rear mud flaps (KEA 600 001A – Style; KEA 600 001 – Classic"

Not 100% sure, but presume this means:

KEA 600 001A will fit facelift cars including vRS and prefacelift vRS

KEA 600 001 will fit prefacelift cars exluding vRS

Only model not covered is Scout?

My MY2008 vRS came with them fitted from the dealer when I bough the car (it was an ex demo) They fit perfectly, I didn't realise until I read a few threads on here that they weren't available as an option so was surprised to find that mine has them on all four corners. Have no idea how they fitted them though.

Hello masonic, i got mine from Parkside Skoda, Bolton.

They're a good dealership, never had any probs there.

In a previous life I used white Sparco ones on a previous car for that "rally slag look" and they were a right royal pain in the a*se. They bent out of shape, discoloured and generally looked like a dogs dinner after three months.

Much as I think mudflaps (of all flavours) compliment pipe and slippers perfectly I will be fitting genuine Skoda ones ASAP. Seems a hairdryer and some common sense solve the problem of the rear ones.

Leave the RallyFlapz to the Corsa boys................
