MPG Improving

Featured Replies

Just done a ~200 mile return trip via M1, M42 and A38. Obeyed the special 50 & 60mph limits and otherwise cruised at around a true 75mph. 50mpg indicated on the computer.

Last full tank mpg was just under 50mpg, full to full. I'm impressed.:)

Have you got 2.0 or 1.9?

I'm hoping it's not the 1.6 as I would expect a lot better than that. My PD 140 will do mid 50s.

My 2.0 PD is saying 52.5 average on the second computer memory.

Not bothered to work it out, but 500 miles for £50 is easy to achieve,

although that'll change as the prices creep up !

50 sounds right to me, the golf tdi at work gets 50-55mpg when i use it.

Mine is the 2 litre diesel. [Will have to extend the description in my profile.]This journey was done mostly at constant speeds so little I can do to get these magical mid 50's that are quoted in many places. My old, well maintained, Passat 1.9PD Estate would get 42/44mpg under the same circumstances, hence my temporary joy.:(
