Even taking into account that I wouldn't get tyres from them anyway, and the airbag and aircon is a "nice to have"... blimey that's approaching the value of the car. MOT isn't due until March, but how does this look for a 9 year old 36,000 mile Fabia. Typical, or what? Time to get rid? Incidentally that's the second replacement driver window regulator in 5 years.

I'm particularly gobsmacked by the steering rack. :(

VAG build quality strikes again !

Looking at that i would say goodbye to the car.

I said goodbye to mine when piston rings were worn

How good is the bus service in your area?

blimey a fair few things wrong with it then

VAG build quality strikes again !

All you seem to do now is whinge about VAG build quality. Compared to a scooby (I know them well, many friends have them) my fabia is much better. Far fewer problems, better panel gaps, better quality plastics on the interior, etc.

If you don't like them don't buy them and for gods sake stop trying to taint the whole VAG group because of your bad experiance! Within all brands there are good cars and bad cars, it depends on the build day.

vag build quality is poor tho, allways has been, tho there isn't any other main stream manufacturer who is and better really, and scooby build quality is awefull 2 scoobies owned many many problems!!!!!!!

That's an impressive list , but there's stuff on there that you don't need to do right away and others that you can get done much cheaper if you DIY or go to a smaller garage.

Visiting main dealers can be an expensive job , but some people do just pay up or they wouldn't keep trying it on.

my last service, wings of peterborough quoted me £800ish for work that is advised i get done soon...coming up to 10k later with none of it done and the cars running fine!

also did the window regulator myself with the help of a few friends and the part only cost £60..will dig out the reciept from where i got it from NEW

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer miscalculated the age of your car and are trying to scare you into a scrappage deal! Get a second opinion!
