Hello All - a little advice please

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

just registered as this seems like the best place to discuss Skoda's and I've just bought a Fabia vRS (yesterday)

I'm a 43 yr old company director living in South Wales.

I already love the car and after reading a few threads here am considering having it remapped.

Can anyone tell me if this can damage the car in any way, if they can recommend a remapping company and how far I should go (I don't want to jepardise the car by pushing it too far but would love a little more performance)

I realise this is a big ask for my first post and I have probably broken endless board rules. If so forgive my please newbieness.

looking forward to many miles of driving my new little wonder

cheers

Welcome. There are quite a few sponsors on here who provide remaps.

It's unlikely that a remap will cause any specific damage although bear in mind that it can reduce longevity of parts such as the gear box, clutch etc.

The majority on here will say go for it :)

Welcome to briskoda :wavey:

Have a poke around in the search area for loads of info on remaps. As a general rule you can "safely" map to around 170BHP and still get longevity out of the clutch and turbo dependant on driving stlye. I would consider a panel filter and PD160 intake to get the best out of your map.

I had mine remapped at around 30k and it's running 175-180BHP ish with other mods:cool:. Now at 123k and still on std clutch std turbo. I'm Bristol/Glos based so if you fancy a taster of a remapped car before you go ahead drop me a line. :D

thanks Guys

I've received loads of feedback as I also posted this on the Fabia 1 board.

I live in South Wales just outside Cardiff so thanks for the offer Johnny5ive. I may take you up on that one day - very good of you.

for now I am seriously considering remapping but may just enjoy the car for what it is for now as its a vast improvement on my old Citroen Berlingo

cheers
