Recommendation for ipod touch and Bluetooth please

Featured Replies

I've had a look through the different fora but cannot find exactly what I'm after.

I've ordered a Fabia 2 which is due for delivery in the next 6-8 weeks. I'd like to know what the best solution is for connecting up my ipod Touch which will also give me Bluetooth connectivity for a Nokia 'phone (or any other in order to be future proof).

I've seen various recommendations for individual solutions but not a single product. Is this possible or do I need 2 contraptions?

Hi, I'm looking at getting a Parrot MKi9000 fitted it can also be had with a blue or colour screen for extra cost.

As well as bluetooth it has an aux, USB and ipod/iphone/ipod touch connector which will charge and play music. This way you can play your music and connect your phone it comes with wireless controls which can be mounted anywhere

Good luck with the search Sheffmax.

I've just taken delivery of a Fabia 3 with the Skoda optional bluetoouth kit (nice interface) and am having their ipod interface installed tomorrow (it hadn't arrived last week when the car was ready for collection.

I'll let you know how they work as they're both dealer fit accessories.

The Parrot MKi9100 or 9200 would be my choice for what you're wanting...

Thanks for the replies. This looks like what I'm after, is it easy to fit or would you recommend a professional does it?

Before I decide I'll wait for pete-d to tell me about the Skoda option.

It's reasonably logical and straightforward, but it's your call really. Depends how comfortable you are pulling the stereo out, storing the control box away and then routing the mic, cabling for the iPod cable and screen.

Having had the car for nearly 4 month, my dealer has still not been able to find a way for the Skoda supplied Bluetooth kit and ipod adaptor both to work connected to a dance head unit in a car with maxidot display. They're working hard on the case and it's currently being tracked on Skoda UK's system as they don't seem to know the answer etiher.

Hopefully something will work out, but it seems to me that Skoda UK has offered two accessories without checking their mutual compatibility.

As a result, my short term recommendation would be to look for something aftermarket like a Parrot kit.

Thanks Pete. I've decided to leave it until after Christmas before I decide on what kit to get so your tale is useful.

In the end the dealer installed a Parrot MKi9200 in mine - it's great.
