Changing the deal before delivery

Featured Replies

Hi all i am awaiting the delivery of my new car to the dealers. i was going for 3yrs 0% finance and free servicing, but i feel the 2yrs 0% vat free offer suits me better, has anyone changed their deal before collection? i plan on ringing the dealer to ask but it would be assuring to know if someone had changed theirs also...

Thanks in advance

I considered it, did a bit of number crunching with the dealer, and tbh... he couldnt or wouldnt better the 3yrs 0% finance and free servicing even with the VAT off. As the deposit was paid I was left with no choice.

I reckon the free servicing is worth £500 maybe? The 3 year 0% finance is kinder as you dont need the bigger deposit? My trade-in covers the up front payment for the 3 yr deal but not the 2 yr deal!! Still if only I was not so impatient and waited a few weeks, might of got a better deal.:(

I bought my car using the scrappage scheme but about a month ago I noticed that Skoda were offering 0% interest and VAT free. Doing some quick sums I thought it might have been worth trading my old car in or selling it privately and when I asked the dealer about this he invited me in to discuss the options as they were quite willing to change the deal. They also offered me a finance deal with 10% deposit and 1.5% APR over 3 years.

In the end I still went with the scrappage scheme as the figures they gave me would have meant that I would have to get £600 for my car which they were not prepared to give me although I'm sure I could have got more than that selling it privately I didn't want the trouble of doing so plus I had already taken out a bank loan and the added cost of paying that off even though I had only paid two installments wasn't in the end worth it.
