Any Outlook/Exchange Experts?

Featured Replies

At work we run Outlook 2007 clients on Exchange 2003. We have various resources for equipment/meeting rooms etc which all have their own mailbox in Exchange/AD.

When a user books a resource the resources calendar is set to automatically accept the request and the booking is placed in both the resource calander and the users calendar.

What I would like is an email generated automatically to a seperate mailbox to let me know the equipment or room has been booked. This would enable me to get the room/equipment set up.

Current we rely on users telling us the stuff has been booked and often this happens at short notice. If the email was generated at time of booking this would make things much easier.

Thanks.

How about setting a forward on the mailbox for the resource calendar? I've not tried it out (as I'm not at work), but that may well forward the calendar item to you. Worth a try anyway.

I can give it a try but no messages actually reach the inbox of the resource as the calendar is set to auto accept any invitations.

The other thing that might do it is set up a distribution list containing yourself and the resource mailbox, and have the users send to the list?

our company does something similar, all i know at the moment is its an extra service/bit of software that runs on the exchange server... i can find some more out on tues if you want?

If you could thanks that would be great

Why not give people who need it permission to see the calendars that the rooms are booked in ? That's how we do it.

Why not just subscribe yourself you the calendar accepting the bookings, and check daily?

I could check each calendar daily but I'd prefer automatic notification, mainly for equipment rather then rooms.

Send you by way of a task with a reminded x working hours before the booking?
