Hello everybody,

I'm Dogwheel because of my house.

After years of petrol Volvoing, then a Turbo Diesel Passat (D reg) followed by a run of 1 umwelt and 2 TDI, Golfs--all well loved, we took delivery of a New, Red 1.9 TDPD Octavia Estate today, it seems lovely, good build quality, well prepared and presented by Savilles Garage near Kidderminster, it's an SE, I sort of wish we had gone up a step and ordered an Excellente, never mind, maybe we can retrofit some of the "missing" goodies. We are definitely going to fit a towbar, with a flange fitting ball (I sometimes use a motorcycle rack) which is one reason why we went for a model without a reversing sensor, I'm wondering if I buy an aftermarket reversing sensor kit,and fit only 2 of the sensors to the bumper, the sensors having a 60 degree detection angle, maybe I can just avoid detecting the towbar, we'll just have to experiment, unless any member can put me right about the foregoing, and also the cheapest way to find a 15" wheel for a spare--how daft is that, not to supply one with a new car?!

Bye for now,

Robin.

Hello :)

Hiya.

Check the price of a steel rim in a dealership; you might be surprised, or at least decide it's not worth your time looking for one elsewhere.
