Tow-bar

Featured Replies

Quoted £607 today by dealer for detachable tow-bar (single electrics) for Yeti, supplied and fitted.

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative? Non-detachable is fine.

P.S. It would be almost £700 net if the factory-fitted towbar preparation option is taken. Can anyone make any sense of that?

According to the new Yeti brochure a removable tow bar's RRP is £220 and "towing electrics without factory prep" £157, a total of £377. Can't see where the extra comes from!

I had a Volvo dealer retro fit a Witter towbar plus Volvo Electrics to my new(09) V50 and they charged £380 inclusive of a days use of a loan car. Wasn't even the dealer the car came from. I can't understand how Skoda are quoting so much.

Thinking I may give the Volvo 6 to 8 months then look at a Yeti.

Just had a towbar and single electrics fitted to a new focus £230

I will ask tomorrow how much for my new yeti and post results

Mike

I've ordered my CR170 with factory 'towbar prep' and having been warned of the high Skoda price for actual towbar was surprised to see the price of £220 in the SUK Yeti brochure. I'm prepared to knock on Mr Witter's door if necessary.

Slightly confused that 'electrics with factory prep' is £147 and 'without factory prep' is £157. Must be a catch somewhere - factory prep is £150. Something doesn't add up - apart from the maths!

If/when I find out more I shall report back. I presume costs for whatever are similar to other models.

There will be some fitting labour, but £607 still seems excessive.

Have now been quoted almost £200 less by another dealer, but not using Skoda electrics!

I am a little confused.
