Hi,

Does anyone know minimum clutch plate thickness for Octavia I RS (AUQ engine)?

My EHA gearbox broke apparently for no reason (other than bad design, too weak for this engine...) and while is removed from the car I can easily change the clutch plate, but I do not what to spend any more if not really needed. It already cost a lot to replace clutch housing (the half of gearbox case facing the engine)...

The car has 120.000 Km

I don't know the minimum for your clutch, but it is false economy not to change it while you have the box out, as that is the major cost of a clutch replacement.

so for the slight extra cost of the kit its well worth it and when you say it has done 120K Kms and I assume it has not had one before ?

You are right Radiotwo, I just bought the parts. Unfortunately parts are very expensive here..

I am doing this by myself, so no direct costs for labor but it is really time consuming and somehow difficult :(
