Locking mechanism assembly

Featured Replies

My car doesn´t start after locking mechanism repair. Do I have to code my car with VAG-COM, after I have re-connected my (passanger side) locking mechanism to the car.

When I try to start the engine, the symbols in instrument panel blinks.

Have you tried both keys?

The battery was empty. Strange, because I just had bought a new battery and it was full charged.

How I can measure is the battery loosing power when all devices are off?

You need an amp meter with clamp type metering things. Sorry don't know what they're called in english. Just put the amp meter on the positive lead of the battery and see what kind of amperage there's going when everything is supposedly off. Remember, there's always some current but it should not be a lot. Alternatively, it can be done with a multimeter as well but them clamps, much handier

Edit: couple of typos

You mean test leads that end in spring clips with saw-toothed jaws? If so they're called alligator clips or crocodile clips depending on size and/or who you ask.

Ah right; I was thinking of a more conventional multimeter with test leads, but ending in spring clips rather than probes like you'd use on a PCB.
