Electric Windows Problem

Featured Replies

Hi ive done abit of a search but did nt find what i want,

basically my passenger side window used to go down automatically but all of a sudden it stopped, now it hardly ever works and if it does it just slowly jolts down

any ideas??

Sounds like a dry solder joint failed in the switch, motor problem, or electrical gremlin with a fuse and/or the one touch needs re-setting.

These threads might help

this one, this one, and this one

These were on the first page of search for "window switch", bet there are many more:P

now it hardly ever works and if it does it just slowly jolts down

Do you mean it now hardly ever works, at all.. full stop? Or the "one touch" feature has failed but if you hold the button it'll work fine?

If It's the former I'd put it up and get it looked at as it could be the regulator eating it's self, and if that fails the window will plummet into the door, Don't think anyone's ever had one smash, but you'll have to find a way to prop it up before it's fixed..

do you get any odd noises, crunches or clicks/cracks?

Does it act the same from both switches, the one on the OS & NS door?
