Just purchased a golf tdi estate 96 p as a work horse for work on my house, dont want to get my octy dirty!

Thing is when ignition is on wipers are on despite stalk in the off position turn ignition off wipers stop what ever position they are on screen! Rear wiper operates as well. Currently have just removed fuse and if rain occurs fuse back in!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had this on a MK3 golf, never did get to the bottom of the issue! I just wired a liitle switch in series with the fuse! Then switched it on whenever i needed to. Even the MOT man allowed it!!
