Help me please?

Featured Replies

Hi all i am new arround here,

My FABIA VRS failed its MOT today with the drivers side headlamp no ajustment when i got them to look it has fallen into the lamp unit.

It is a factory option xenon and the guy in the MOT center said buy a new one,

next problem is that after about an hour with google i still cant find a replacment unit.

Or do i even need a new unit i am in trouble as i only have a fixed time to fix it i need the car for work?

Any help would be great.

Thanks ALL

you really need to get the headlamp out first to inspect it before totally condemning it, you may be able to fix it

when the xenons require adjustment, they have to be set with the use of VAGCOM , sounds like someone has tried adjustment without it , what happens then is the height adjust motor goes off its head and winds fully out , hence probably what you have now

I intend to have a look at it tomorrow but if it is dead can you guys recomend a company that may be able to help me?

I am in kent;

Thanks for the responce.

Only things i can think of are check round local scrap yards / dismantlers for any who have a xenon light unit in stock or speak to any of the local Skoda dealers in the Kent area for a new one but they're not cheap. :thumbup:

Cheers

Dave.

just make sure you have everything turned off before you start the job , Xenon headlamps can be dangerous

oh and you need to remove the front bumper to get the lamp out
