Are Tourist Light and Travel Mode the Same Thing?

Featured Replies

Just for clarity as I'm off to France this week.

The manual states Select Tourist Light form menu.

On the Menu there is only a Travel Mode that looks as if it may do the trick.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Try it... Park up to a wall and select it and see what happens to the beam pattern?

Phil

That's the one(Travel Mode).I tried it a few months ago.

Cool, thanks

I do so love consistency in documentation....

As cars become more complex and the systems in them get more technical the poor old tech Author doesn't stand a chance.....

yeah it is the same but it will not affect the beam pattern, it will just stop the AFS if you have xenon

False.I tried the option and I saw the left beam getting up and the right beam getting down(left handed car in my case),so it really works. On the right handed cars it works the opposite, the right one goes up and the left one goes down.

do you have to restart the ignition after modifying it , or just when driving if u enable it you get this change

You don't have to re-start. I switched on, made the change, started up and drove off the ferry with everything working correctly. You shouldn't attempt any form of set-up when driving.

i will test it tonight , thanks alot for replying that fast

but what i am sure of that it will disable the dynamic range control and the AFS modes

this is what is indicated in the manual

What Ray said, it will flash a warning that it is in tourist mode every time you start up but wont return to normal until you do that yourself in the menu

I played with my lights at home and didnt notice the beam changing at all but driving in France it certainly lit up the gutter well so i guess its does re-align the beam

In my Skoda superb 2 the travel light option is Missing how do i take it out

Do you have the factory fitted bi-xenon headlights? 'Travel Mode' only applies to the xenon, not regular halogen headlights...

Yes they are factory fitted

Perhaps the features and specs differ for Superb's that were destined for the Indian market?

If you have factory-fitted bi-xenon's then 'Travel Mode' should be visible in the 'Lights & Visibility' menu.

Till yesterday it was there after the afs stopped working i can't find it and now i receive two error message

1 afs not working owners manual

2 check right dipped light

I checked all my ways bulbs are good fuses are good the thing is right headlight not working and afs stopped working and I can't find travel mode

You have xenons, so you can have a faulty ballast and/or a faulty turning module (both are located under each headlamp) ... and I've told you already, stop panicking and writing all over the forum, AFS issues won't simply be solved without a diagnostics kit

'Travel Mode' relies on the AFS mechanism to adjust the beams.

If your headlights are faulty it stands to reason that the 'Travel Mode' feature becomes temporarily disabled.
