Hi All!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Not quite my first post here, but ... I've got a free moment & thought I should say hi properly.

On to the important stuff - I've just bought a 54-plate Fabia Comfort 1.9TDi, which is actually my first car(!), as I only passed my test last week... I've been lurking on here for a little while, and have found quite a lot of valuable info about the Fabia, and caring for it, even if I haven't posted, so thanks. :)

As my new tax disc seems to have fallen victim to the postal strikes, it looks like I'm going to be spending the weekend filling in paint chips and doing polishing/sealing & cleaning, instead of having my first proper drive in it, which is a little frustrating. :(

Thanks! :)

I was rather surprised I passed, as my original test was cancelled the day before due to the examiner being ill, and near the end of the in the intervening 6 weeks(!) my instructor changed their car from a Corsa Life 1.3 diesel to a Fiesta Style 1.4CDTi - by the time I actually got to take it (over 2 months after booking it), I was more than a little worked up. Still, a big relief when I passed (first time)! :)

Hiya.

Congrats on passing your test, and AIUI you can drive on the expired tax disc up til the 5th of October, but I'd take the printouts of the receipt and confirmation e-mail with me (in fact I have mine in my glovebox).

Oh yeah, and now it's time to start learning to drive rather than to pass your driving test, so be sure to check out the Racing and Advanced Driving forum. When there remember that there are no stupid questions about driving, only questions you don't know the answer to.

Thanks, Ken. I wasn't aware of that - I just assumed that it expired the day it said, and that was that, kinda of thing.:o
