1.4tsi dsg mpg?

Featured Replies

Interested to hear what MPG are you getting on this?

Thanks

I've not got DSG but on a 50 mile round trip, approx 75% of which is motorway, keeping to mostly less than 60MPH, using cruise control where possible and with the aircon off the Maxi-dot reckons the average MPG was just over 50MPG for my 1.4TSI manual.

Or to put it another way the indicator for low fuel has just come on after 415 miles with the Maxi-dot saying there's 65 miles range left.

This about the same as I got out of a 1986 Audi 80 1.8L petrol with a carburetter and no catalytic converter (but it did have a 68 litre fuel tank) and is much better than my 1.8 L VW Passat where I only usually managed just over 300 miles with the same sized tank as my Octavia.

UPDATE : I've just filled up for the second time (same pump as last time) so I now know how many miles I've done on a full tank and I've done 482 miles and used 53.32 litres of petrol. If my arithmatic is correct this works out at 41 mpg. I have done a bit more motorway driving than I usually do though and have been taking it easy.

(why when saving the above update did it say the message was too short and required lenghtening by 2 characters ?)
