Featured Replies

Should the grooves on the disc should be pointing to the rear or to the front. Anyone with piccys to show the correct way they should rotate???

Just looked at mine and I don't know if there fitted correctly

The grooves on my discs are pointing towards the front...it looks wrong to me, but hey that's what the instructions said to do! :rotz:

Do you have ZeroSixties, by any chance? Mine went on this way when I had them:

...but when I queried it with Sarah, I was told they're stamped on the circumference, so there's no chance they were on wrong. From what I've seen, discs with straight grooves are always facing 'back', but discs with curved grooves go either way depending on the design. Whatever's the case, I had mine on like that until the grooves had worn flat, and never had any issues... :)

Mine are fitted like yours Apogee............Thanks, they must be right then

It all depends on the make of discs. Most manufactures have the grooves sweeping outwards as you go forward. This is how EBC TGDs shoud be fitted. Sport Slotted Brake Rotors for Cars

However there are some that put them the other way round. I don't know what the Zero Sixty ones are, so RTFM, their website is useless. What is the most important is the internal fins should always sweep outwards.

External fins.......:o........

The above is the right way I am sure. The idea being as the disc rotates forwards, the heat in the grooves is pushed to the outside.

Internal fins.......:o........

The bits in the middle of the 'two' disks that make them ventilated?

Just to complicate things, 'StopTech' and Brembo have the holes or grooves the other way round. The internal vanes or fins is what makes them ventilated and are most imprtant. The diagram on here is usefull: StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades

This is what Brembo Say. Brembo - Sport Rotors
