Another clever touch....!

Featured Replies

My vRS has the auto lights fuction and xenon headlamps.

With the switch in the auto position the knob doesn't pull out for front or rear fogs, you have to twist the knob to the right, onto sidelights, and the to dipped beam position before you can switch the fogs on.

I was concerned that if the lights were on but then I needed the fogs on then switching them from auto past sidelight to dip would flash the headlights off then on again. This could be distracting or send the wrong message to other drivers (as well as shorten the light of xenon bulbs and ballasts).:(

However I discovered the other evening with the lights on auto that when you switch over to the sidelight position the dipped lights stay on for about a second before turning off, so if you just twist the knob all the way from auto to dipped, then the lights don't flash off at all....!:D

A lovely little touch and well thought out too.

I can now flash my front fogs as a 'thank you' in the dark instead of blinding people with a flash of main beam......
