What excess do you have?

After speaking to DL about added insurance premiums for a remap, it made me wonder what excess people have on their policy. For a revo remap (207BHP) they want to increase my excess from

DL had my excess up to 750...which meant my premium was a bargin at 1300...so I quite mid policy...I know you said don't but :P...LV came in at 738 with a 250 excess...

DL seem to lump the excess up along with the premium like you won't notice. they also rate it on % increases, so find the lowest figures published...the fact I didn't know didn't wash it with them, although ECU upgrade was not listed as an issue to raise the premium, it was when I slipped up and said chipped they hit me.

my current excess is 350 quid,am phoning around for quotes now as its due for renewal and the modifiyed quotes i'm getting are around the 880 quid mark with a 500 quid excess.

thats with a policy covering any mods up to 250bhp all chassis mods included.

Cheers for all the replies people. I phoned round some other companies the other day, and it seems that DL are the cheapest for me, in terms of premium and excess, with and without mods. Look like I'll have to just grin and bear it, or put the remap on hold. :thumbdwn:
