2004 2.0 TDI 60k service and cambelt

Featured Replies

Hello

My dad has been quoted £610 including VAT for a 60k service with cambelt change on his 2004 2.0 TDi. Seems expensive. Wonder if others have any experience of better prices. He would like to keep it with a franchise dealer. I have suggested he gets some other quotes (franchise and non franchise)as I followed the Briskoda advice for my car and got the service costs reduced.

I know the cambelt may have had to be done earlier (they seem to change the intervals quite often!) but it wasn't so he does need a service and cambelt change combined.

Many thanks

We had the cambelt done on my wife's 2004 VW Golf 2.0 TDi with DSG earlier this year and the local VW dealer (Martins of Farnham) charged £299 all in

The service was done a few months later and cost around £200 including brake fluid change

Thanks for the info if a VW dealer is cheaper than Skoda he should be able to get a better deal than initially offered.
