Fabia 1.2 and Speed tables

Featured Replies

I went for a drive today, tried to straddle a speed table, heard a scrape from the front end of the car.

Anybody got any ideas which but if the car i scraped?

I thought the Fabia would have plenty of clearance for speed tables.

That must be some speed bump, the Fabias hardly a car low to the ground! I have straddled loads of them with no scrapes.

Yes, it is a rather nasty one for sure, just don't know if it scraped anything crucial or not.

Hello MikeW,

At a pure guess, it would be the plastic protection tray that sits just below engine bay area.

Check for damage, if any, take photos of damage, take photos of speed table, and place before the road-works/local council for compensation, keep copies of all correspondence.

Heard similar stories near where I live, particular Bus company who placed a claim.

Council soon come along and skimmed top off speed table.

Good-luck.

Thanks for the advice!

If it's anything like the Mk1, there's a lip about 3/4 of an inch deep or so, pointing downwards at the rear edge of the front bumper. I don't know what purpose it serves (some sort of spoiler?), but obviously if it's scraped on the speed bump, then the speed bump's too high / steep and you need to contact the council, as has been said...
