Brembo brake advice anybody?

Featured Replies

hi

I have an octy mk1 which has had brembo callipers installed on the front, does anybody know where i can get some new pads for them from?

It seems most online shops that sell brembo pads are for oem callipers and discs and wont fit.

cheers

james

brembo dont sell that many pads for their calipers, the fiat turbo ones should work as i understand (check this please) and are meant to be the cheapest. Is the kit you have a gt kit? if not what are the calipers off?

have you tried asking these guys mate?

Brembo - buy online today

if no good maybe they could point you in the rite direction?

other than that when i used to work in a motor factor we used tio get people bring a random pad in and ask to match it up with books :rolleyes::rofl:

anoying but it was doable  and they are getting paid for it

As others, where did you source the calipers?

leon cupra r's have the brembo's as standard pads are £135.50 retail be suprised if these dont fit

Hi

Thanks everyone for your advice. I am posting some pics up of the callipers and the ill fitting discs which were fitted at the local Mitsubishi dealership.

If anyone is any good at identifing brembo calliper models I would love to know which version they are and what size discs should be fitted.

Thanks again

Looks like a Brembo GT kit caliper to me, but I would say that the calipers have been re-painted as the Brembo logo is not white (ie. someone got the decals made up).

The discs should be 323mm and you will be able to fit the Fiat Coupe pads in that caliper (as said by Luca above they tend to be the best value in most aftermarket brands).

Wow! Those discs are very wrong aren't they!

They appear to be the callipers from a Mk1 Seat Leon Cupra R (Brembo GT), fitted to standard (Brembo OEM) vRS discs. I recognise the discs because I use them.

Click on the link I posted before, and you'll find the bits you need after selecting an LCR from the list.

You can use the 312mm's provided the offset is corrected with the brackets that you have made up. The braking face is the same width.

I wouldn't say they are the LCR calipers as the OEM Brembo caliper on the Seat's have external brake fluid pipes.

Oh yeah! Never noticed that before!

There are a whole load of cars that come with similar calipers to those, from the Fiat Coupe to the Alfa 166/7, Focus RS (Original) and a host of others including some of the previous generation BMW 740's. Have they had custom brackets made for them? The usual difference between these calipers which all look the same are the mounting bracket dimensions and type.

I agree the discs look tiny, at first I thought they were 288mm.
