Breather pipes.

Featured Replies

Finally got round to putting my new breather pipes on this week after the Y shaped pipe fell apart. (17705 ring any bells) Y shaped one is a doddle to fit, the one under the inlet manifold bit fiddly, also put Forge dump valve on and cleaned the throttle body.

What a difference it's made feels so much smoother should of done it alot sooner.

Did notice in the old Y pipe though alot of gunk i can see why other people have put an oil catch can on, got me thinking about catch can now.

Has the work you did cured the 17705 fault code ???

The reason I ask is mine now has the dreaded 17705's when started from cold (OK after key off or fault code deleted).

So far I've checked boost pipes and cleaned/rebuilt DV- (007P) but no luck so far....will clean the throttle body later today, just waiting for gasket.

Hope yours is OK :thumbup:

whats the easiest way to get those silly clips off the pipes to the dv? cut them off and put jubilee clips might be the way forward

I just get a small flat head screwdriver into the clip and break them open by twisting it. But yeah, they are annoying as hell!

Almost all of mine have been removed!

17705 GONE:thumbup::D

Used long nose pliers to get securing clips off dump valve and replaced with jubilee clips.

Everything running fine, car has never felt better, lot smoother and responsive, almost forgot how good a car it is:thumbup:

Great news.....and just the encouragement I need to have another look at mine :thumbup:

TBH I'd almost lost interest in trying to fix it, since I found out my liquid gauge was able to clear the 17705 fault code while the engine is running..... and even while driving :)

Best of luck sorting yours out. Just hoping mine stays code free, seems to be a reoccuring fault going off the threads that i searched out on the dreaded 17705. Most threads say it returns after a few weeks, shall keep an eye on mine.

At the moment though mine running really well.
