Tyres for L&K

Featured Replies

Just got a nice L&K Estate 2.0TDI DSG at auction :D

It's an 06 with 36k - serviced at 16k and 34k.

It has Michelin Primacy HP all round - 205/55/16. Two have been on for only 4k and are fine but the other 2 need replacing - Looks like they've done over 20k!

Order of priority for me is quietness - longevity - roadholding (I don't mean roadholding doesn't matter - just that I probably won't be driving it to the limit)

Sensible to replace with the same type???

Thanks

Steve

Michelin are renowned for long life but tend to cost more. My previous Golf 4motion had Energy 3A fitted from new, still had plenty of life left when I sold it with 24,000 on the clock. Where not very grippy in winter weather though.

Recently fitted Avon ZV 5 to the front of the wife's Corsa; they appear better in all respects to the Contie Premium Contact 2 fitted previously and would have tried these on the Golf if I had kept it.

UK tyre and not a bad price from:
